For the Love the Lake
Falling in Love with a Misunderstood Lake
Being raised twenty minutes from the shores of Utah Lake, I was bombarded with stories that the lake was an ecological, gross disaster. A lake that couldn't be saved without massive human intervention. A place that no one really cared for.
It wasn't until I moved five mins from the north shores of Utah Lake that I learned how misunderstood the lake was. In an attempt to find a cool, quiet, open space to explore with my dog I started visiting the lake on the daily. I expected it to be disgusting and smelly but was willing to endure it so my dog could get exercise and I could get out.
What I found was a beautiful lake shore that was teaming the plant and animal diversity. Every season presented something new. This body of water was not a failing but was a thriving ecosystem that housed many plants and animals.
Below is my series of images about the lake and the beauty that can be found there. This is a continuing series.
